KOSOVO RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE PORTAL

About

Kosovo is actively creating a sustainable energy sector by fulfilling its renewable energy potential, improving energy efficiency, and moving toward a decarbonized energy future.

Kosovo has prioritized the modernization and improvement of the country’s energy sector, and is working closely with development partners, including USAID, the European Commission, KfW, the World Bank, EBRD, and the IFC, as well as other international donors and the private sector to achieve these important objectives.

Private sector-led development and investment, sustained by sound government policy and a welcoming business enabling environment, are critical for the expansion and long-term success of renewable energy.

The Government of Kosovo recently undertook significant reforms in the power sector aimed at liberalizing and developing the Kosovo electricity market. Through its new Energy Strategy  2022-2031 and the draft Renewable Energy Sources Law, Kosovo is in the process of establishing a new legal basis for increasing private sector investment in renewables.

The Renewable Energy Source Portal provides a comprehensive one-stop-shop for investors and developers on Kosovo’s renewable energy opportunities. The portal offers up-to-date information on applicable legislation, regulations, and procedures and as well as links to leading energy sector stakeholders.
